2020 Contest Winners
Wisconsin People & Ideas magazine recently announced its 2020 statewide contest winners in fiction and poetry.
The first place fiction award went to Jacquelyn Thomas for her short story, "Junk Shed." Second place was awarded to Jennifer Morales for "Wiseacres." Barbara Kriegsmann placed third with her story, "Without Provisions."
In poetry, first place was awarded to Susan Martell Huebner for "1967." Second place went to Kathryn Gahl for "Sister." Dominic W. Holt took third place with "Liquirizia."
Monetary awards of $500 to $100 are included in the prizes, with publication of the first place story and first through third place poems in the summer/fall issue of Wisconsin People & Ideas (available this September). A subsequent issue of the magazine will publish the second and third place short stories.
