WFOP Triad Contest

August 15, 2020, is the deadline for submitting poems to the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets' Triad Contest. The contest is actually three separate poetry contests, in which only WFOP members in good standing may participate. One contest is called the Poet's Choice Award; another, the Theme Award; and the last, the Kay Saunders Emerging Poet Award. Humor is the theme for this year's Theme contest. The Kay Saunders Emerging Poet contest is for member poets who have begun to submit or publish their work, but have not won a poetry contest as an adult.

Rules and guidelines for submitting entries are located here.

Judges for the contests are Mary Fell, Poet's Choice Award; Dr. Kevin Griffith, Theme Award; and Martha Silano, Kay Saunders Emerging Poet Award. You may read brief bios of the judges here.

The WFOP and Bent Paddle Press are also inviting poets to submit poems for an anthology they want to publish. Submitted poems (deadline, Aug. 15th) should reflect our lived experience during this period of physical distancing. More information can be found here and here.
